Scope magazine (1941-) was published in Kalamazoo, Michigan by Upjohn Pharmaceuticals. Its scientific subject matter posed its designers with the challenging task fo presenting complex technical information in a simple and understandable format. Two art directors to excel at Scope's need for strong information design were Lester Beall and Will Burtin.
